Summary
On April 20, 2022, excavators uncovered unidentified human remains at a construction site in the 10000 block of 105th Street NW in Corinna Township, Wright County, Minnesota. The site had previously been occupied by a cabin that had stood on the property for many years. Investigators believe the remains were buried beneath the footprint of the former cabin, and forensic analysis indicated the burial likely dates to between the 1700s and 1800s.
Investigators determined the remains belonged to a white woman who was approximately 50 years old and about 5'2" to 5'3" tall at the time of her death. Details of the case were entered into the National Missing and Unidentified Persons System (NamUs) as UP152961.
Midwest Medical Examiner's Office has teamed with Othram in hopes that advanced forensic DNA testing will generate new leads. Othram's scientists will extract DNA from evidence and use Forensic-Grade Genome Sequencing® to build a comprehensive DNA profile suitable for forensic genetic genealogical research.
