Summary
In December 2023, the remains of an unidentified male were discovered beneath a bridge on Flowers Road South near Woodcock Boulevard in Chamblee, Georgia. The man, believed to have been living in a makeshift shelter at the time of his death, was found deceased just outside his hut. It is believed that he might have been transient or homeless, due to what was found on scene. A long, gray thermal shirt, jeans, blue underwear and brown work boots were found, along with handwritten notes in Spanish. There was also a silver Android phone with a graffiti-style sticker on the back that read, "Awesome!"
The remains belong to a male, estimated to be between 19 and 59 years old, standing approximately 5’7” tall, with short, spiky brown hair. Due to the skeletal condition of the remains, traditional forensic methods have been unable to establish his identity.
Despite investigative efforts, the individual remains unidentified after nearly a year. The case has been entered into the National Missing and Unidentified Persons System (NamUs) as UP115454.
In 2025, the DeKalb County District Attorney's Office and the DeKalb County Medical Examiner’s Office teamed with Othram to apply advanced forensic DNA testing. Othram will conduct DNA extraction and Forensic-Grade Genome Sequencing®, building a profile that can be used for forensic genetic genealogy analysis.
