Summary

On August 30, 2020, the Norcross Police Department requested assistance from the Georgia Bureau of Investigation’s Atlanta Regional Investigative Office with a death investigation in Norcross, Georgia.

Tyler Hall, a 21-year-old Norcross resident, was found deceased in his home. Hall had suffered multiple gunshot wounds.

Since Hall's murder, multiple agencies have worked to determine who was responsible for the young man's death.

In February 2024, the GBI Cold Case Unit submitted evidence to Othram for advanced DNA testing. Othram’s laboratory in The Woodlands, Texas, where scientists used Forensic-Grade Genome Sequencing® to develop comprehensive genealogical profile for the unknown suspect. The profile was handed over to GBI investigators who executed a genelaogical search.

New leads in the case led investigators to identify twenty-seven-year-old Rashad Jackson as a suspect in Hall's murder. On September 17, 2026, the GBI announced that Jackson, who is incarcerated in the Georgia Department of Corrections on unrelated charges, is now charged with Malice Murder, Felony Murder, Aggravated Assault, Armed Robbery, and Possession of Firearms During the Commission of a Felony in connection with Hall’s death.
